Western PDRN Skincare Is Rising: The Best Products to Know

Western skincare brands are finally entering the PDRN space, but not by simply copying Korean formulas. From biotech-focused exosome serums to luxury salmon DNA facial oils and hydrogel treatment masks, the Western approach to regenerative skincare is evolving in a very different direction.

Since I already covered PDRN and Korean polynucleotide skincare in detail in my previous guides, this article focuses on something newer: the most interesting Western PDRN-inspired launches currently on the market. I selected formulations that stand out not only because of the marketing, but because of their ingredient composition, texture, technology, and overall approach to skin recovery and rejuvenation.

What Is PDRN in Skincare?

PDRN, short for Polydeoxyribonucleotide, is a DNA-derived ingredient most commonly sourced from salmon DNA and originally used in regenerative medicine and wound healing. In Korea, it later became especially popular in aesthetic clinics through injectable polynucleotide treatments designed to support skin recovery, hydration, and overall skin quality, particularly after procedures.

Topical PDRN skincare is now widely used in products focused on barrier support, visible skin recovery, calming stressed skin, and improving hydration and glow. While topical formulas can be excellent for compromised or dehydrated skin, they still work very differently from injectable treatments. How Western Brands Are Adapting the Korean PDRN Trend

What makes the current Western PDRN trend interesting is that most brands are not trying to directly copy Korean PDRN formulas. Instead, they are adapting the concept into completely different directions, combining PDRN with exosomes, growth factors, peptides, longevity-focused ingredients, and luxury anti-aging technologies.

There is also a noticeable texture difference. Many Korean PDRN products focus on lightweight hydration and barrier support, while Western launches often lean toward richer creams, facial oils, and more intensive “regenerative skincare” positioning.

Another interesting shift is the rise of vegan DNA alternatives. While traditional PDRN is usually associated with salmon-derived DNA fragments, some newer Western formulas now use plant-derived DNA or vegan “PDRN-inspired” technologies instead.

At the same time, hydrogel masks and eye patches clearly show how strongly Korean skincare aesthetics still influence the category, especially when it comes to glow-focused and hydration-heavy treatment formats.

The Western PDRN market is still relatively small, but some formulations already stand out for their ingredient composition, texture, and overall approach to regenerative skincare. Here are 8 of the most interesting Western PDRN products currently worth paying attention to.

Lancôme Absolue The Soft Cream

Best Luxury PDRN Cream for Dry & Mature Skin

Lancôme Absolue The Soft Cream

Where to buy

This is the very first Lancôme skincare product formulated with Hydrolyzed DNA, although the brand takes a much softer approach to the PDRN trend than most newer launches. Instead of salmon-derived polynucleotides, the formula uses rose-derived DNA fragments combined with Pro-Xylane, panthenol, adenosine, and a rich moisturizing base focused on skin comfort, hydration, and texture.

Rather than feeling like a high-intensity regenerative treatment serum, this formula leans more into the luxury anti-aging category, with a silky cream texture that melts into a thinner serum-like finish on the skin.

What I Like

  • Uses rose-derived Hydrolyzed DNA instead of the more common salmon-derived approach

  • LHA adds a mild resurfacing element for smoother-looking skin and extra radiance

  • Velvety texture feels rich and nourishing without becoming overly heavy or waxy

Worth Considering

  • Strong floral fragrance profile with rose oil and multiple fragrance allergens

  • Added colorants are used for sensory and aesthetic purposes only

  • Better suited to dry and mature skin than oily or congestion-prone skin types

Mario Badescu Advanced Peptide PDRN Jelly Cream

Best Lightweight PDRN Moisturizer for Oily Skin

Where to buy

Mario Badescu takes the PDRN trend in a more accessible, gel-cream direction. This is not a salmon-derived formula either, but a vegan PDRN-style moisturizer using plant-derived heartleaf DNA fragments, paired with 5% niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, and Matrixyl 3000 peptides.

The texture is one of the main reasons this product stands out. It has a whipped, bouncy jelly-cream feel that makes it more appealing for oily, combination, or summer skin than richer anti-aging creams. The formula is also fragrance-free, which is a nice surprise for a colourful, trend-driven product like this.

What I Like

  • 5% niacinamide gives the formula a clear brightening, barrier-supportive, and oil-balancing angle

  • Matrixyl 3000 adds peptide support without making the product feel too heavy or treatment-like

  • The pink tint comes from Vitamin B12 rather than artificial pink dyes

Worth Considering

  • Sodium DNA appears very low in the ingredient list

  • More of a lightweight hydrating jelly cream than an intensive recovery product

  • Very dry or compromised skin may need something richer with more lipid support

Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+

Most Advanced Biotech PDRN Serum

Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+

Where to buy

This is one of the newest and most technically ambitious Western PDRN launches so far, and honestly, one of the few products where the entire formula feels built around the regenerative skincare concept instead of simply using PDRN as a marketing angle. Rather than focusing on luxury textures or classic anti-aging positioning, Medik8 leans heavily into exosomes, growth factor-inspired technology, skin signalling, and recovery-focused biotech skincare.

The formula uses a vegan “Prismatic PDRN” technology alongside Lactobacillus extracellular vesicles, Oligopeptide-1, amino acids, niacinamide, centella, panthenol, and ATP-related ingredients designed to support visible skin recovery, barrier function, and overall skin resilience. Even the texture reflects that modern biotech direction: lightweight, silky, and very layering-friendly rather than rich or occlusive.

What I Like

  • One of the few Western formulas where the DNA component sits relatively high in the INCI list

  • Combines multiple regenerative skincare trends in one formula: exosomes, growth factor-inspired peptides, ATP support, amino acids, and vegan DNA technology

  • Surprisingly clean formula for such a trend-heavy launch, with no fragrance, essential oils, or unnecessary colorants

Worth Considering

  • Some penetration and exosome-related claims feel heavily marketing-driven

  • The active system is quite complex, which may not appeal to minimalist skincare users

  • Dry skin types may still prefer layering this with a richer moisturizer for additional comfort

Rodial Salmon DNA Water-Oil

Best Salmon DNA Face Oil for Dry Skin

Rodial Salmon DNA Water-Oil

Where to buy

Rodial takes the PDRN trend in a much more biotech-meets-longevity direction. This bi-phase formula combines salmon-derived Sodium DNA with plant growth factor technology, EGF-style peptides, and NAD+-inspired positioning, all wrapped into a lightweight water-oil hybrid texture.

Unlike many richer facial oils, the texture here stays surprisingly fluid and elegant after shaking the formula together, giving the skin a very glowy, nourished finish without the heaviness of a traditional oil blend. At the same time, this definitely feels more like a regenerative facial oil than a minimalist recovery serum.

What I Like

  • Contains a beautiful mix of meadowfoam, jojoba, chia, flaxseed, and abyssinian oils for glow and lipid support

  • Combines Sodium DNA with EGF-style peptide technology and NAD+-inspired ingredients

  • The lightweight bi-phase texture feels more modern and elegant than many classic facial oils

Worth Considering

  • Contains fragrance, geranium oil, and multiple fragrance components

  • The rich oil blend may feel too heavy for oily or congestion-prone skin

  • The “59% active” marketing language sounds impressive, although the brand does not clearly explain how this number is measured scientifically

Rodial Salmon DNA Hydrogel Face Mask

Best PDRN Hydrogel Mask for Glow & Hydration

Rodial Salmon DNA Hydrogel Face Mask

Where to buy

Compared to the Water-Oil, this formula feels much more focused on hydration layering, peptides, and skin recovery support. The hydrogel format already gives it a very different experience on the skin, and the ingredient list is honestly surprisingly sophisticated for a treatment mask.

Alongside Sodium DNA, the formula combines NMN, copper peptides, multiple signal peptides, niacinamide, ferments, caffeine, and several forms of hyaluronic acid. It feels very aligned with the current overlap between PDRN skincare, longevity-inspired ingredients, and Korean-style hydrogel treatment formats.

What I Like

  • Excellent peptide blend, including Copper Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4

  • Uses multiple forms of hyaluronic acid for a more layered hydration effect

  • No heavy fragrance overload, which makes much more sense for a recovery-focused product

Worth Considering

  • The formula contains a very large number of peptides and trendy biotech ingredients, although the exact concentrations are not disclosed

  • Hydrolyzed collagen and elastin mainly function as hydrating and film-forming ingredients rather than replacing collagen in the skin

  • Rich hydrogel textures may feel slightly heavy for very oily skin types, especially in hot and humid weather

Rodial Salmon DNA Jelly Eye Patches

Best Cooling Salmon DNA Eye Patch

Rodial Salmon DNA Jelly Eye Patches

Where to buy

Out of the entire Rodial Salmon DNA line, this is probably the most streamlined and balanced formula. Instead of trying to combine too many trends at once, the product focuses more clearly on hydration, soothing support, and the temporary plumping effect people usually want from hydrogel eye patches.

The combination of Sodium DNA, sh-Oligopeptide-1, centella, marine algae extracts, and allantoin works especially well for tired, dehydrated under-eyes. And unlike many trendy eye patches, this formula avoids heavy fragrance and unnecessary essential oils, which makes far more sense for the delicate eye area.

What I Like

  • Sodium DNA sits surprisingly high in the ingredient list compared to many similar products

  • Includes centella, allantoin, and multiple marine algae extracts for hydration and soothing support

  • Cooling jelly-hydrogel texture fits perfectly with the de-puffing, refreshed-eye concept

Worth Considering

  • Primarily focused on hydration, smoothing, and temporary plumping rather than dramatic long-term wrinkle correction

  • Very dry under-eyes may still need a richer eye cream layered underneath

  • Contains PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, which some highly reactive users may prefer to avoid

Enaskin Naturals PDRN Hydrogel Eye Masks

Best PDRN Eye Masks for Puffiness & Fine Lines

Where to buy

Compared to the Rodial eye patches, this formula feels much more treatment-focused and ingredient-dense. Instead of mainly targeting hydration and temporary plumping, Enaskin combines Sodium DNA with retinol, caffeine, peptides, niacinamide, hesperidin methyl chalcone, and multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, creating a more active anti-aging and de-puffing approach for the under-eye area.

The overall formulation feels heavily inspired by Korean hydrogel eye masks, especially with the layered hydration system and the combination of brightening, soothing, and circulation-supportive ingredients. At the same time, the formula is noticeably more complex than the Rodial patches.

What I Like

  • Excellent under-eye ingredient combination with caffeine, hesperidin methyl chalcone, niacinamide, and peptides

  • Uses four different forms of hyaluronic acid for stronger hydration and plumping support

  • Retinol is an interesting addition for an eye patch and gives the formula a more treatment-oriented feel

Worth Considering

  • The large number of active ingredients may feel too much for very sensitive under-eyes

  • Retinol, even at a likely low concentration, may not be ideal for reactive users

  • Hydrogel eye patches mainly provide temporary hydration, smoothing, and de-puffing effects rather than dramatic structural changes

Marini SkinSolutions Marini Reboot™ PDRN Face Serum

Best Barrier-Repair PDRN Serum

Marini SkinSolutions Marini Reboot™ PDRN Face Serum

Where to buy

This is one of the strongest examples so far of a Western brand taking the regenerative skincare concept seriously instead of simply borrowing the PDRN terminology. The formula combines salmon-derived Sodium DNA with barrier-supportive lipids, ferments, peptides, amino acids, and hydrating ingredients in a way that feels much more recovery-focused than trend-focused.

Compared to many lightweight biotech serums, this formula leans into nourishment and skin comfort instead. The texture sounds closer to a creamy serum-emulsion hybrid, with ingredients like squalane, shea oil, ceramides, and olive unsaponifiables giving it a more replenishing feel, especially for compromised or overtreated skin.

What I Like

  • Sodium DNA sits unusually high in the ingredient list compared to many Western PDRN products

  • Excellent barrier-supportive combination with ceramides, squalane, shea oil, and olive-derived lipids

  • Ferments, amino acids, turmeric, and ginseng give the formula a more complete skin-recovery approach

Worth Considering

  • Contains fragrance and several fragrance allergens despite the recovery-focused positioning

  • Richer emollient structure may feel too heavy for oily skin types

  • Those preferring minimalist skincare may find the formula quite complex

Western PDRN skincare is still a very new category, but it is already clear that brands are taking the trend in very different directions, from lightweight jelly creams and hydrogel masks to biotech-focused serums and rich recovery formulas. And honestly, that is what makes this space so interesting right now.
